Projects - Dodger Support

Yet another project stolen from Rob Hoffman's SUNDOG....

While visiting SUNDOG, I took lots of pictures of the aluminum arch and then gave them to a local guy to make an "exact duplicate", I told him.

Here is the result.

The dome light platform is a little off center.

Also, the whole assembly was about 1/4 inch short width-wise.

This doesn's sound like much, but it was a bear to get the holes to line up, then "stretch" the aluminum frame to meet the sides of the cockpit coamings.

I hope it is the aluminum that stretches and that my Gemini doesn't look like this in a few years!!!

The support is really good for hanging onto in a rough seaway. There is a double tube up at the top with a spacer an this makes a really good handhold. I feel much better about lashing the boom down to the dodger now, also.

I ran a wire from the dome light platform, down through the tube, into the aft port berth and over the already crowded electrical panel for yet another light.
