I
used to tie on an individual line each time I left the boat
and completely remove and stow it each time I returned. I
was noticing that the spacing on the rail clips at the bow was
just about the same distance as the distance from the bottom
clip to the furling drum. I made up a small line with a small
snapshackle at the end. You can see it here clipped (stowed)
alongside the pulpit rail.
Now
when leaving the boat, I can just unsnap from the top clip and
clip to the hole in the furling drum. Quick and easy!
Now
if I could only remember to unclip it before unfurling the sail
for the first time.......
