The
reason for this project was really the hot/cold controls and
their (lack of) adjustment. An added irritation was the dispersion
nozzle on the faucet causing water to spray all over (and out
of) the shallow sink.
I
really wanted a regular faucet with a single handle hot/cold
control.
I
bought this one at Home Depot. It is a Price Pfister all brass
(with chrome). This thing works INCREDIBLY well. A nice
simple stream of water - no splashes. Perfect temperature regulation.
Next
I needed a shower (that's what the old faucet did). While on
my way to the checkout line, I saw
a snap-on (with a fitting) dog wash shower that, lo and behold,
had a thumb-operated water shutoff! It was perfect!
This
setup now works great. My only complaint now is that thanks
to some government regulatory body, the water cannot be shut
off entirely with the thumb valve of the shower.
It intentionally trickles to let you know that there could be
hot water there ready to scald you when you turn it back on......gee
thanks.
