I started with the three lids along the Nav and work area. I put some really small eye screws under the lids and tied 1/8 inch bungee loops to them. I put a corresponding screw into the bottom shelf, one for each lid, back far enough so that you can't see it when standing in front of the work area.

I have since copied Rob Hoffman's idea and used those hatch holders that look like long "bendy" springs. These are much more convenient.

Next were the two aft berth lids. I used short 1x2 pieces of wood with a hinge attached the right distance back on the lid. These just hang down when the lid is closed.
